What?

The Raidho Project is a means to see where my products are being used. I am asking customers to send a post card from their location to our address. A post card? Yes, those little rectangular pieces of cardboard we used to send to each other in the 90's. It is an attempt to collect information from various locations around the world. Everyone dreams of traveling the world. Few of us do. I am sure, sooner or later, I will visit some of these locations. However, until I can do so I would like to do the next best thing.

So you kind of know what the project is. But what is Raidho? Raidho is a Norse rune generally associated with some of the following key terms: movement, progress, travel, wagon, cart, horse. The orange R in the logo is in the shape of this Norse rune. Just another way of incorporating Norse mythology into my site.

Why?

Imagine walking into an office and seeing post cards from around the world. Post cards from companies using their products. I think you will agree... it is awesome! Plus, by participating, I am offering the following:

You send me a post card. I send you a post card. Only seems fair. :)
I will add your website link to my links directory.
Post Cards will be featured in my newsletter and blog with a small write up about the location and your company.
I will add your website to my social networking sites.
I will post a photo of the post card and brief synopsis of your company on my site.

Who?

The primary goal is to have customers who have purchased my products or are using the free downloads send in post cards. But I would be willing to offer this to others who find it interesting.

Where?

Where in the world is Carmen San Diego? You can be from anywhere in the world.

When?

If you are reading this, then the offer stands.

How?

So you have read this far. That must mean you are interested or just really bored at work. If you are interested here are the steps to participating.

Send me a line. Email or use my contact form to let me know you want to participate. I would like to know first this way I can make sure to watch out for your mailing.
Get a spiffy post card showing off your geographic location.
Fill out the post card with some cool facts or just say hi.

Then, we play the waiting game. :( Once I get the post card, I'll email you with some questions to get some content rolling for a small feature article, add links and so on. Of course, I'll send you a post card as well. :)
Last of all, talk about it. Display the post card in your office. Your clients will potentially ask "Why do you have a post card from Andover, OH USA? Is that even a real place?" It is real... or am I living in the Twilight Zone? Truely, the post cards are a great conversation piece and show your clients you have connections all throughout the world.

What is the ultimate goal?

As the brilliant Brain once said "Try to take over the world." (The Brain from Pinky and The Brain) That would be the sinister goal. But I would like to think that I am able to gather post cards from all continents and countries. Though, Antartica may be a hard target. Do penguins know how to send mail?
